Conceptualising and Measuring Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Across the Lifespan

Lead Research Organisation: University of Bath
Department Name: Psychology

Abstract

This project will explore the concept and measurement of ADHD and its links with other mental health conditions across the lifespan. We will examine current theories of ADHD and psychometrically evaluate existing measures used in children and adults. The project will also seek to clarify the links between ADHD and other neurodevelopmental (e.g., autism) and mental health conditions. The PhD will be supervised by a team of academics from a range of backgrounds including Psychology, Psychiatry, Neuroscience and Cognitive Development, who will lend their expertise on ADHD and neurodevelopmental conditions more broadly. In collaboration with external partners like the GW4 Neurodiversity Network, we hope to advance understanding of neurodevelopmental conditions and offer novel insights into the relationship between ADHD and mental health.
