Gene regulation in Vibrio cholerae

Abstract
The project will study the role of two second messengers, cAMP and cyclic di-GMP, in controlling gene regulation in Vibrio cholerae. These signalling molecules allow the bacterium to respond to carbon starvation and to form microbial communities called biofilms. Our hypothesis is that these processes are linked. To test this we will use global methods (e.g. ChIP-seq and RNA-seq) in combination with biochemical tools and genetics.
