Abstract
This project will reappraise Gwen John's artistic practice and importance for modern art by conducting
the most sustained study of her works on paper to date, in particular exploiting AC-NMW's significant
but underutilised collection and drawing on my extensive professional experience cataloguing and
researching works on paper.
