Develop new techniques for lattice-based cryptography with application to privacy-preserving signature schemes.

Lead Research Organisation: University of Surrey
Department Name: Computing Science

Abstract

The student will develop new techniques for lattice-based cryptography with application to privacy-preserving signature
schemes. In particular, lattice-based group and ring signature schemes typically rely on strong assumptions in their
security proofs to allow for more efficient constructions, however, these strong assumptions do not accurately model real
world behaviour leaving the resulting primitives open to vulnerabilities. The project will propose new group and ring
signatures that bypass the need for unrealistic models, whilst maintaining usable efficiency and functionality. To achieve
this, the student will need to explore novel proof techniques that can be applied to the aforementioned primitives.&
