Non-perturbative dynamics and compositeness at finite temperature

Abstract
The project will study the dynamics of gauge theories
with symplectic gauge group. The general aims are to predict the
properties of the composite states of the theory, and to characterise the
confinement phase transition, as a function of the temperature of the system.
Alternative scenarios will be considered, in which the gauge theory is taken in isolation,
or in the presence of matter fields with different transformation properties in respect to the
gauge group.
Potential applications are mostly within fundamental physics,
ranging from short distance characterisation of new physics models,
to contemporary astroparticle phsyics (dark matter),
to more speculative early-universe scenarios (gravitational wave backgrounds).
