Exploring the landscape beneath the Antarctic Ice Sheet and its influence on ice behaviour.
Lead Research Organisation:
Durham University
Department Name: Geography
Abstract
Summary: This project will investigate the subglacial landscape of Antarctica. Satellite and radio echo sounding data will be used to map sub-ice topography to explore its geological evolution and interactions with the ice sheet. Results will help the Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) better understand instabilities in the Antarctic ice sheets.
