Towards a molecular understanding of Mucorales-bacterial interactions underpinning disease
Lead Research Organisation:

Department Name: Biosciences
Abstract
Mucorales are soil-dwelling fungal pathogens that can infect immunocompromised patients, yet many questions remain about their basic biology and modes of growth. In this project, the student will develop tools to better understand the genetic networks that regulate fungal growth, stress resistance, and pathogenesis, with the long term goal of improving our ability to study the molecular mechanisms underpinning the capacity of these organisms to cause devestating disease.
