Collisional Cascading: Predicting the Distribution of Objects in Low Earth Orbit based on Collisions and other Mechanisms

Lead Research Organisation: Aberystwyth University
Department Name: Inst of Mathematical and Physical Sci

Abstract

Using statistical simulations of satellite, debris and object collisions in Low Earth Orbit; as well as models of Earth's atmosphere and other effects such as warming average temperatures in the lower atmosphere, to predict the long term evolution of the mass distribution of objects in Low Earth Orbit.
