Deciphering Essential Factors in Predictive Air Quality Modelling: Informing Human-Centric User Behaviour and Environmental Design Decisions
Lead Research Organisation:
Swansea University
Department Name: College of Science
Abstract
The main aims of the project are:
1. to use a human-centred approach based on user study together with Machine Learning (ML) to determine how a wide set of environmental factors (including human activities) in dwellings, previously unexplored, can be used to monitor IAQ and improve our understanding of the level of contribution of buildings characteristics and resident's behaviours in IAQ.
2. to evaluate the model with various stakeholders, knowledge gained from models and the feedback received from the users based on a field study to facilitate development of new guidelines and recommendations for residents and designers of the built environments
