Interconnections of Past Greenhouse Climates

Abstract
This project will study (i) the hydroclimate response in North Africa and West Asia to past changes in regional and global temperature and (ii) the associated changes in ocean circulation and oxygenation. Our starting point is to shed new light on why IPCC class models consistently fail to match geological and archaeological records by greening the Sahara in response to insolation forcing during the mid-Holocene.
