Abstract
Despite police misconduct, and therefore investigations into this misconduct, being part of police culture, there have been no academic studies (other than my own - Lukic, 2018) on the discourse of police interviews of police officers who have been accused of misconduct/crime (henceforth 'police suspects'). More specifically, there has never been a study on how a police suspect's dual identity may affect the narrative and linguistic choices of interlocutors in a police interrogation. My aim in this project is to investigate the complex relationship between identity, power, and narrative construction in the interrogation of police suspects.
