Livestock Markets as therapeutic sites: evaluating third sector approaches to rural health in Wales
Lead Research Organisation:
CARDIFF UNIVERSITY
Department Name: Cardiff School of Planning and Geography
Abstract
The project focuses on the concept of one-health as a form of environmental planning, encompassing ecological, human and animal health. Existing DTP funded studentships have focused on one-health in relation to tree health. The supervisory team comprises staff from Cardiff University (Enticott and Williams) and Monmouthsire Rural Support Centre. The project will build links between Welsh HE institutions and civil society groups in Wales, help consolidate existing research expertise on themes of rural economy, health and the voluntary sector, and foster new research collaborations to theorise gaps in knowledge with regard to the impact of Brexit on the health of farmers.
