All-Optical Method for Characterizing Individual Fluorescent Nanodiamonds
in ACS Photonics
Description | We have developed microscope technologies that integrate multiple recently developed experimental approaches. We have found that small particles of diamond are excellent markers for microscopy. They do not degrade over time, so some of the measurement approaches, which require tens or even hundreds of conventional images to generate computationally enhanced data are more effective when we use nanodiamond. We are also developing general approaches to designing microscope hardware with mutliple modes of operation and we are consistently improving how we communicate these methods to the research community. |
Exploitation Route | We are just now developing the experimental approaches that will be disseminated - we are currently developing potential collaborations with biological researchers in the fields of anti-microbial resistance and with cancer research with the aim of disseminating our techniques both to the wider research community and also, ideally, to industry. |
