Abstract
Recent developments indicate the presence of infinite dimensional symmetry algebras acting on the BPS states of supersymmetric gauge theories. This project will exploit the representation theory of quantum groups and algebras to count so-called semi-short multiplets in superconformal quantum mechanics. This is relevant via the AdS/CFT correspondence to the currently unsolved problem of understanding the entropy of supersymmetric black holes in anti-De Sitter space.
