Modelling NAFLD using human IPSCs

Lead Research Organisation: King's College London
Department Name: Genetics and Molecular Medicine

Abstract

1. Can white adipocytes be generated from hiPSCs using a directed differentiation approach based on manipulating key signalling pathways?
2. How does mechanical sheer force presented via microfluidic system impact upon the biology of hiPSC-derived hepatocytes and white adipocytes?
3. How does in-parallel communication between hiPSC derived hepatocytes and adipocytes in a microfluidic system further instruct call biology and can this 'multi organ on a chip' srt up be used to model NAFLD?
