Abstract
This project aims to understand cognitive, social, and educational benefits of growing up bilingual across mainstream and complementary schools. Complementary schools (CS) are voluntary schools set up by linguistic, cultural, or religious communities and often focus on maintaining community language and culture. The project is longitudinal and cross-disciplinary, and is proposed in collaboration with the Newham Partnership for Complementary Education (NPCE).
