Coherent control of nuclear spins in semiconductor quantum dots

Abstract

The project investigates optical control of quantum dot nuclear spins through hyperfine interaction with a resident electron spin. This is motivated by the possibility that nuclear spins can be used to store quantum information as an ancilla to the electron spin.
