The Evolution of Division of Labour
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Oxford
Department Name: Interdisciplinary Bioscience DTP
Abstract
This project will explore how natural selection can lead to the evolution of division of labour (DOL), why DOL occurs in some scenarios and not others, and its role in the major evolutionary transitions in individuality. I will take a theoretical perspective, using tools from kin-selection theory, adaptive dynamics, and comparative biology.
