Abstract
The aim of this PhD project is to explore possible initiatives and approaches to urban regeneration by critically assessing the potential and pitfalls of urban acupuncture, or micro-scale urban interventions, in regenerating urban vitality. Through the exploration of the local, regional, and global context respectively within Swansea, Southern Wales, and internationally, this research will investigate the social, economic, environmental, and democratic impacts of micro-movement urbanisms in regenerating quality of life in cities theoretically and practically. Alongside Urban Foundry Ltd., this research aims to co-design alongside various stakeholders better urban cultural-economic policy to better urban livability.
