Improving healthcare outcomes for cancer patients by increasing quality, safety and efficiency of IV Chemotherapy services

Lead Participant: MEDCURA TECHNOLOGIES LTD

Abstract

The project aims to deliver an integrated digital platform for the management of IV Chemotherapy in hospital. IV Chemotherapy provision has many dangers. Ensuring patient safety & quality is critical. Inefficient order management, patient flow, data flow, capacity management, quality and safety monitoring and patient engagement has meant that these services are expensive, offer poor quality experience to patients and pose safety risks to patients. The platform will: 1) Manage & schedule the preparation and administration of Chemotherapy orders, 2) Manage purchase of raw materials, 3) control & audit the compounding of the IV product both in pharmacy & on the ward to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, 4) Track & trace the correct IV product to the correct patient, 5) monitor the safe disposal of waste, 6) allow patients & their carers to have visibility of the process & schedule & provide feedback
