Visualwind provides monitoring and analysis for developers of potential wind farm sites. Data is collected through mobile phone networks from masts at these sites. The hardware used is expensive and we are developing a new, simplified data logger for smaller projects, that could be easily mass produced for a low price point.Other applications for low cost logging devices are prevalent in the energy and water sectors, and Visualwind intend to use the grant to develop remote monitoring facilities for the developing world, with the specific application of monitoring water facilities.
