Description We have been able to create Schottky diode based frequency multipliers with excellent power conversion efficiency and high output powers. These will be useful generally as local oscillator sources for sub-millimetre wave heterodyne detection. In particular, success with a frequency doubler to 200 GHz was important in winning a UKSA grant to develop the GRaCE pulsed Doppler cloud radar, currently nearing completion.
