On toric and rational surfaces
Lead Research Organisation:
Loughborough University
Department Name: School of Science
Abstract
Geometry of surfaces is paramount in mathematics with applications in other sciences and industry. Toric varieties, as special types of rational surfaces play a central role in modern geometry. This project concerns the study of Mutations of toric surfaces, with possible relations to theoretical physics, and parametrisation of singular surfaces, with a view towards applications in design.
