Abstract
After 10 years of successful data-taking and examination of B-mesons, it is exciting to consider what new things can be done. This project will advance rather different, but both state-of-the-art novel ideas for LHCb. The first is an investigation of a composite materials for the radio-frequency shield inside the LHCb vertex detector. The second is the application to data analysis, of a new method for invisible-particle searches that uses the well-measured Bs oscillation frequency as a kinematic constraint.
