Stellar flybys in protoplanetary discs

Abstract

Using smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) numerical simulations to model the effect of a stellar flyby on protoplanetary disc dynamics, in particular whether the density perturbations of the gas and dust will produce conditions favourable to planet formation.
