Search for new physics in data collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider
Lead Research Organisation:
Royal Holloway University of London
Department Name: Physics
Abstract
The search will be conducted using the ATLAS detector to study data from proton-proton collisions during Run 3 of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. The project is to search for evidence of new physics in this data which contains high energy leptons (muons/electrons). Distributions, such as invariant mass and angular distributions, will be studied in order to search for deviations from Standard Model expectations, which could indicate evidence of new physics, such as new gauge bosons, Z', extra dimensions, G, contact interactions or quantum black holes. The project includes being based at CERN on Long Term Attachment for approximately 12 months.
