Abstract

Description | Chinese Hamster Ovaries (CHO) cells are used as cell hosts for the production of therapeutic proteins such as monoclonal antibodies. The study between high producing CHO cells and low producing CHO cells revealed that the low producing cell lines are not exploiting the glucose from the growth medium as well as the high producing cell lines, while the high producing cells had greater abundance of phospholipids. |
Exploitation Route | The understanding of how the CHO cells are exploiting the nutrients, such as glucose, and generally the metabolic pathways taking place in these cells can help in the optimisation of the biopharmaceutical production. |
