Abstract
We have begun to understand the emergence of spacetime in holographic theories of quantum gravity such as AdS/CFT, but a number of questions remain, particularly concerning the description of the spacetime region inside black holes. The project will apply ideas from quantum information theory to this problem. Promising directions include the modification of the eternal black hole spacetime by a coupling between the two boundaries making a traversable wormhole from one asymptotic region to the other, and the relation of complexity to black hole geometry.
