The Galaxy Stellar Mass Function & Low Surface Brightness Galaxies

Lead Research Organisation: Liverpool John Moores University
Department Name: Astrophysics Research Institute

Abstract

To develop methods to detect and analyse low surface brightness galaxies. To develop existing methods to detect and analyse low surface brightness galaxies using state-of-the-art data sets. Also investigate completeness of the low mass end of the Galaxy Stellar Mass Function, and as a result, rule out and improve cosmological models of galaxy evolution.
