Abstract

This project aligns with the Faculty and University strategic themes by providing internationally-leading research and world-leading innovation and impact and aligns to the health and wellbeing and health technologies themes within the University's strategic framework. The work is innovative and will provide impactful outcomes that will drive global medicines development. This work also starts to establish a centre of excellence in biopharmaceutics by involving Prof Hannah Bachelor (who is a recognized international expert in paediatric biopharmaceutics).
This work further enhances collaborations with international experts as it builds on existing relationships with those at KU Leuven. Ibrahim Khadra is involved in the COST Action "European Network on Understanding Gastrointestinal Absorption-related Processes" (UNGAP) network (https://gbiomed.kuleuven.be/english/research/50000715/50000716/ungap): UNGAP as an EU cost action encourages short scientific missions. Ibrahim Khadra also has joint publications with Patrick Augustijns at KU Leuven (See 10.1016/j.ejpb.2021.12.006 and 10.1016/j.ejpb.2020.06.011). KU Leuven is a strategic partner of the University.
