Evolution of group properties via individual level selection

Abstract

The overarching question that motivates this proposal is the following: Under which conditions can group properties emerge in an evolutionary process through individual based selection only. In particular, this project will concentrate on the evolution of individual level traits that are selectively neutral at the level of the individual but not at the level of the group.
