Unearthing the impact of soil biology with AI
Lead Participant:

Abstract
At present, the transition to Net-Zero cereals farming is fraught with risk because of the exclusion of soil biology based insights.
Understanding soil biology through the lens of microbial community composition can enable cereal farmers to improve Nutrient Use Efficiency, more judiciously apply fungicides and adopt environmentally beneficial farm management practices.
Addressing this clear market need for UK cereal farmers, this project will:
1. **Enable the development of entirely novel Machine Learning models to underpin Elaniti's digital decision-support platform for farmers and agronomists;**
2. **Establish a robust and world-leading soil bioinformatics capability in the UK.**
