Development of a low-carbon cementitious material by recycling Calcium Carbide Residue (CCR) waste from foundation industries to decarbonise construction sector
Lead Participant:

Abstract
The principal motivation behind this project is to develop a technologically feasible and economically viable alternative low-carbon cementitious material by utilising Calcium Carbide Residue (CCR), a '_zero recovery value_' waste material produced in vast quantities within bulk chemical manufacturing and metallurgical industries. The idea is to expand circularity and enhance symbiosis between the foundation industries by utilising CCR waste to produce structural and non-structural concretes and bricks with a reduced carbon footprint.
