Giglets: Exploring and exploiting opportunities in Canada and the Americas
Lead Participant:
GIGLETS LIMITED
Abstract
Project to evaluate and identify potential opportunity to market and sell Giglets literacy and numeracy platform to education authorities and schools in Canada. This will consider a compare and contrast approach based on a successful UK model and how that might apply in another educational jurisdiction and context. This will include an appropriate business model, technology, infrastructure, and information security as well as routes to market including distributors and resellers as well as a direct model including pre-sales, support and maintenance.
Giglets has developed a successful UK business and has international customers and supports educational products in over 30 different languages. This includes a first pilot site at a Gaelic Medium School in Nova Scotia.
The Canadian market includes over 14,000 schools and provides a market to "test" the transferability of Giglets platform into a new market and to develop and adapt the product further in Canada and with the potential to consider how this might apply to North America and the Americas in general.
The Canadian market has many similarities to Giglets own domestic market in Scotland and the UK with dual language applications available in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. This is an area where Giglets enjoys success, and which can be transplanted and scaled in other markets.
The project will consider the challenges and opportunities of entering the educational software market in Canada specifically and the potential for North America in due course with the associated scale up opportunities.
This includes understanding the market and key partners, the educational procurement decision making process and to develop a supply chain and capability to market, sell and support the product in the Canadian and other markets in due course.
We are proud to be a multi-award winning company, committed to delivering world class, digital educational materials for the development of literacy.
Giglets Education impacts learning in schools across England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland, as well as internationally from Australia to Qatar. We have partnered with government and non-governmental bodies in delivering learning in primary, secondary, special and language medium schools and provided national assessments for a UK devolved government from 2017 to 2021\.
