CreditVista: the corporate credit data platform

Lead Participant: CREDIT VISION LIMITED

Abstract

Business lenders – both institutional and peer to peer ones – tend to lend on the basis of a very
limited and rigid set of key financial indicators that have largely proven inadequate for
assessing corporate credit risk. Because critical financial data are overlooked, business
lending is not efficiently allocated and as a result certain corporates are not able to access
funding despite being potentially solid borrowers while other companies are granted
undeserved, excessive credit. Even more importantly, following the initial credit sanctioning
and provision of funding, lenders’ existing credit monitoring systems and practices have
failed to accurately monitor counterparties’ credit risk.
This project is about the development of a novel prototype platform as a service that captures,
structures and contextualizes decision-critical information and data leveraging new
technologies and credit analysis expertise with the aim to materially improve the quality of the
information lender rely upon when assessing corporate credit risk and therefore optimize the
provision of corporate credit.
