Lattice QCD calculation of weak decay matrix elements
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Cambridge
Department Name: Applied Maths and Theoretical Physics
Abstract
This project will consist of several calculations aiming to test the Standard Model description of how quarks change their flavour. Realistic gauge field configurations containing the effects of up, down, strange and charm quarks will form the ensembles within which correlations functions are computed. Nonrelativistic and highly improved staggered quark actions will be used to calculate matrix elements needed to give theoretical predictions for mixing in neutral B meson systems, and the decays of B mesons.
