Evolution of the galaxy-halo connection across times

Abstract
This project is an investigation of the galaxy halo connection in a series of novel galaxy surveys, initially focusing on the PAUS narrow band survey at intermediate redshifts, and possibly moving to higher redshifts with the MOONS survey. This extend previous analyses done at lower redshifts with GAMA by going significantly deeper and at higher redshifts by sampling a significantly larger volume in a more homogenous fashion. The project requires the development of a new group finder based on Markov Clustering that has been shown to outperform standard friends-of-friends algorithms when applied to samples with typical galaxy number densities. The outcome will be a better understanding of how galaxies populate and halos, with the aim of improving of knowledge of how galaxies form and evolve.
