Magnetic-spin-optical dynamics in molecular materials

Abstract

This project will explore how the chemistry, materials and physics of light impact electron spin interactions in organic semiconductors. By using advanced optical and magnetic resonance techniques, we will study novel moelcular semiconductors to derive structure-function relationships for magnetic-spin-optical dynamics in these systems. From this we use molecular engineering of the materials towards designer functionalities. Here we aim to unlock the basis for a range of applications: from more energy-efficient light-emitting diodes and solar cells to creating testbed platforms for quantum technologies using molecules.
