Hootenanny platform

Abstract
Hootenanny aims to transform the lives of aspiring musicians, enabling them to achieve sustainable careers in the art they love and building a more equitable and inclusive ecosystem, while boosting the creative economy and hospitality and nightlife sectors.
Artists, particularly those from lower socioeconomic classes, are struggling from the shift to streaming. This is narrowing the musical landscape, as only those with significant financial support are able to build a career in the industry. Despite more people than ever before paying for premium music subscriptions, growing streaming platforms' revenue, most artists are unable to make a sustainable living. Limited opportunities to engage directly with fans hamper monetisation efforts, further impacting artists' ability to grow their revenue. Without a viable alternative revenue source, many artists will leave the industry.
Hootenanny is developing a platform for artists to create their own digital Tribes to monetise, enhance and grow fan relationships. The unprecedented connectivity to their fans will enable artists to build thriving and profitable communities. With widespread industry support, Hootenanny is addressing key industry needs with this platform, which will result in a huge increase in revenue over streaming income, particularly for independent artists. Artists using the platform will be able to offer their fans exclusive opportunities, fostering stronger relationships.
In alignment with the government's UK Digital Strategy, Hootenanny will empower artists with the entrepreneurial skills necessary for success in the digital economy. The Hootenanny platform will be the only one to offer the artist-specific and community-building tools required to find, engage and build superfan communities.
