A Resilience Modelling Framework for Improved Nuclear Safety (NuRes)

Lead Research Organisation: Loughborough University
Department Name: Aeronautical and Automotive Engineering

Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description Methodology has been developed to assess the resilience of Nuclear Power Plants. In comparison to the traditional risk and reliability assessment methods the models developed can not only predict the probability of failure but can also be used to predict the different effects that an incident will have on the reactor and how soon the system can be recovered.
Exploitation Route Extend the methods developed for more applications and scenarios.
