Seedmat technology - an innovative alternative to pesticide use
Lead Participant:
TERRASEED LIMITED
Abstract
Terraseed is a novel, seedmat technology that has been developed by Terraseed Ltd as a non-chemical approach to weed control in salad and vegetable production. Terraseed products are being manufactured under license by commercial growers especially where herbicides have been withdrawn.
The project aims to develop and extend the technology for the control of important pests and pathogens in horticultural crops to further reduce pesticide inputs with particular emphasis on lettuce and carrots.
Terraseed Ltd have collaborated with Stockbridge Technology Centre and the emerging technology will be licensed using the existing Terraseed framework.
