Transient Measurements of Organic Semiconductors
Lead Research Organisation:
University of St Andrews
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
This project will investigate making transient measurements on organic semiconductor materials and devices. This will be achieved using the likes of pulsed optical / electrical excitation to study processes such as energy transfer and charge transfer. It is anticipated that the understanding gained by the project will allow the development of new organic devices with appealing characteristics such as high-efficiency, and the ability to be modulated at high-speed.
A particular focus will be made to develop new measurement techniques (and in particular those on operating devices). Understanding the underlying physics at a device level is critical to ensuring the technology can be applied effectively.
