Energy Efficiency Marketplace for SMEs
Lead Participant:
SURPLE ENERGY LIMITED
Abstract
SMEs struggle to access energy efficiency. It's too complicated, the energy efficiency technologies market is confusing and appears initially to most businesses to be very expensive. Furthermore, there is no one-size fits all solution for SMEs, who are typically undervalued by their energy supplier. Surple are developing a marketplace for energy efficiency products that uses energy consumption data to measure and prove actual savings of solutions - partially anonymises this data and then make it easy for others to benchmark which energy efficiency investments are best for them. Using energy consumption data from smart-meters and external open data sets about building use, type and fabric Surple are able to make intelligent and tailored suggestions to SMEs about what solutions are most suitable for them to invest in. A simple interface for SMEs to understand their energy use and make smart decisions about what energy efficiency investments they must make and on the other side of that marketplace we are providing energy efficiency solution providers with a single-point of access to already qualified and engaged SMEs.
