Abstract
The Sound Cinema Project aims to create the first online cinema dedicated to audio described film and designed specifically for the visually impaired community.
This pioneering VOD platform will work as an online cinema, enabling viewers to see releases at the same time and price as they come out in physical cinemas and on their platforms in the UK. All the audio descriptions will be vetted for quality prior to inclusion.
The Sound Cinema aims to set an example of high standards of online accessibility and quality of audio descriptions, and will be developed in collaboration with RNIB.
