Abstract

The aims of the proposed research are to:
1. Determine the perceived influence of the menstrual cycle and/or contraceptive use on performance
in netballers and coaches, and identify strategies employed to mitigate any impact.
2. Investigate the global support and education around menstrual cycle and/or contraceptive use for
netballers around the world and how demographic and cultural factors influence this.
3. Establish whether the menstrual cycle or contraceptive use influences netball performance and
match-demands.
4. Co-produce and implement an accessible and inclusive intervention to support netballers and
coaches to understand and mitigate the impact of the menstrual cycle and contraceptive use.
