Modelling Geothermal Heat Extraction from Abandoned Mine Workings and Associated Ground Stability Issues.
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Edinburgh
Department Name: Sch of Geosciences
Abstract
The feasibility of using abandoned mine workings for the extraction of Geothermal heat and the stability during re-injection of cooled mine waters will be evaluated using unique geological data sets and state of the art numerical tools.
