Abstract
For cost reduction, time saving and environmental compliance purposes, most of industrial manufacturers seek to optimise their machining process without
decreasing the production quality. Indeed, aero-engine manufacturers - which use for critical part sensitive and difficult to cut materials as nickel-based alloys -represent a particular research target for this subject.
Machining operations could induce loss of mechanical performance in terms of hardness and/or strength by the effect of the rising material in the workpiece.to
limit these effects, cutting fluids are used as a coolant but also to lubricate the tool-workpiece contact area and improve the tool life. Therefore, cutting fluids are an important stake for industrial actors.
The aim of the project is to develop a novel cooling solution in machining operations, by understanding cooling phenomenon of machining operations and develop methods to use DEF according the machining process and the workpiece.
