Nonlinear numerical simulations of relativistic fluid systems.

Lead Research Organisation: University of Southampton
Department Name: School of Mathematics

Abstract

This project aims to develop a new implementation for matter in nonlinear - fully general relativistic - simulations of neutron star binaries driven towards merger by the emission of gravitational radiation. This will involve both computational and theoretical/mathematical aspects as well as the use of the supercomputing technology.
