Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.
 
Description Through this grant, I was able to extend research undertaken during my PhD project into the contemporary operations of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Exploitation Route I have supplied briefing papers to a number of organisations on the rise of 'social spending targets' in IMF lending operations (House of Commons International Development Committee; New Rules for Global Finance; Oxfam), which became a core extension of my work during the ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship.
