Electrode Materials For Next-Generation Perovskite Photovoltaics
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Warwick
Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
The Achilles' heel of organic and perovskite photovoltaics for practical applications is their susceptibility to degradation in oxygen and water present in air, which inevitably ingresses into these devices over extended periods. This PhD project will focus on the development of novel materials and device architectures that extend the stability of these classes of emerging photovoltaic device towards degradation in air, without compromising device power conversion efficiency. Particular emphasis will be placed on electrode-centric approaches, that use low cost, non-toxic materials. This project will provide an inter-disciplinary training in materials chemistry, photovoltaic device science and surface/interface analysis techniques.
